Youth Art Zone Facilitator

The Youth Art Zone Facilitator supervises youth arts and crafts during Lowell's summer concerts. Located in the Englehardt KDL Library community room on Thursday evenings (June-August), this seasonal position requires availability from 5:00-9:30pm on most of these dates: June 12, 19, 26, July 3, 10, 11, 17, 24, August 7, 14. Pay is $14/hour.

Lowell Arts, a non-profit connecting the community through visual and performing arts, partners with the Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce to present the free Showboat Sizzlin' Summer Concerts at Riverwalk Plaza. The Youth Art Zone offers youth of all ages a creative retreat from the outdoor concert environment while showcasing Lowell Arts' programs. This position provides valuable experience in arts programming and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up Youth Art Zone supplies and signage before events

• Clean up and store materials after events

• Provide instruction and guidance for arts and crafts activities

• Follow Youth Art Zone objectives, rules, policies and procedures

• Supervise children with safety as a top priority

• Create positive experiences for all participants

• Manage supplies and facilities responsibly

• Report any forms of misconduct appropriately

Qualifications:

• Minimum age: 16 years

• Ability to pass a thorough background check

• Experience working with children preferred

• Artistic skills and interest in arts education

• Customer service experience beneficial

• Ability to manage multiple children simultaneously
